Super fast suppers...are you down?

I feel compelled to share with you here on my blog.  The type-A personality that I am, I'm always trying to find new ways to be more efficient in the home.  The kitchen has always been my demise for whatever reason.  I never feel comfortable in the kitchen.  Call it insecurity...I don't know.  That fact of the matter is...I don't like cooking.  :(  Sad but true.  Because the kitchen has been my "Job" (biblical term/name), I'm always trying new ways to make it easier for me to get in there and feel comfortable.  We've recently put in some garage cabinets which forced my hubby and I to clean and purge and do some more of my favorite...ORGANIZING!  So in the process I came across this little gem.

Have you heard of it?  OMG, it's the best thing ever.  Why I haven't used it before I have NO IDEA!  It has a weekly meal plan in there, that gives the grocery list and calorie count.  They have wonderfully delicious recipes that you can create in 20 minutes.  And because they're easy recipes they don't call for a lot of ingredients, so you save some money...BONUS!  Also too, they have crockpot recipes and another section called "Jump-start Suppers", where you make a big batch of one recipe and they give you 4 more ways to incorporate the batch in main dish recipes.  How cool is that?
I'm pretty excited...can you tell?  I just have to say that this particular company is not paying me or anything, I just thought I'd share something that hopefully can help you like it's helping me.  :)
Till we meet again...Happy Super Fast cooking light.  Tata for now.

Splishin and Splashin...

That's what we've been doing this summer.  How's your summer going?
Catching some sharks!  That's what Kai's been doing!

Some backyard water fun.  Chloe pausing for a quick
picture while playing in our "caterpillar" sprinkler.

Swimming lessons were earlier this summer.  I think Kai had the
most fun out of all three.  The girls aren't quite comfortable but they're
getting there.  Here's Kendra with our water coach, jumping in.

Lately I've been guilty of rushing!  Well perhaps it's what all us moms are guilty of from time to time.  Rushing off to school, rushing to practice or lessons, rushing to church, etc.  But what I don't find myself doing is rushing to spend and enjoy every minute with my children.  Why is it so hard to do?  I've thought about it lately.  It's sad but when we rush ourselves and our children and don't take the time to stop...we lose out on precious moments, those memories that we could experience had we just paused!  I think about all the times I use my phone to take a picture to post on facebook or check-in where we're eating or going to that day.  But all those moments of posting and updating are moments spent not paying attention to what matters most.  And ultimately we lose out on "being in the moment".  We're too busy tweeting about it or updating our status.  I was convicted about it.  So lately I've tried to stay away from the computer (except for now) and enjoy the moments.  Savor every second with my children, with my husband.  What I've found is that I don't miss being on my phone and computer.  It's become more of a chore to "log on" and "sign in" which is far from the days of  "computer oasis" aka as my escape time. Go figure!  I've allowed social media to suck me in.  So for now, I'll continue to "update", "sign on", "sign in" or "post my status" every once in a while.  So if you're wondering where I'm at...well just know this...I'm living in the moment.
Until next time....

What have we been up to?

Oh just a little bit of this....

...Like getting ready for Spring!
(totally scored the chevron lantern at Michaels, it was the last one, ya!)

Used some Christmas money to buy a water fountain.  (I've always wanted a waterfall)

I spray painted some old, faded lanterns.
Gave them a fresh and new look.
I'm digging the turn out!

...a little bit of that!

Hanging around!
Kai being silly the other night.  This little boy is full
of surprises and tricks!

Eating Clean is another thing we're up to, well honestly just me.
But I'm hoping it'll be a "we" soon. Ha!
I found this great website called "Green Plate Rule".
She shares great recipes and tips on eating clean.
Below are my salads prepped for the week.  Prepped them Saturday and I've
enjoyed a few thus far. :)

...lastly, did I ever tell you that we live amongst princesses?
Today your highnesses were "Sleeping Beauty" and
"Belle".
Your Majesty....

So that's what we've been up to!  We're keeping busy and enjoying our free schedule.  We've had a pretty healthy winter up until a few weeks ago when we all
caught the 24 hour bug. Blah!  The girls are both fighting colds right now.  I'm
hoping it doesn't turn into anything else.
Thanks for stopping by.
And what have you been up to?

*Chloe*

Here's our Chloe.
*long sigh*
She's growing so quickly...time flies doesn't it?

She's our funny gal.
Kind of the boss within "the scoop".
She talks really well and loves to sing.

Some of her likes...
  • watching Dora the Explorer
  • Princesses
  • Dressing up like princesses
  • playing with their mobigo
  • strawberries
  • candy, cupcakes, lollipops and anything else sugary!
  • loves to look at books.
  • loves all kinds of lipgloss.  She and Kendra call them "lips".  Too cute!

There's a little bit about Chloe...next up Kai!  :)  Have a great weekend.

*Kendra*

This post will be all about Kendra!  I figure since my blogging was next to nothing last year, it's time to share an update on each of the kiddos.
What's new with Kendra???  So much.  She's our sweet little girl.  But don't underestimate her, she can get feisty when she wants to be.
Some of her favorites...
  • SWEETS!  Seriously I think she can eat sweets all day long if it were up to her.
  • She loves everything Princess!
  • Dancing is her thing, singing too, but she can bebop like no other in the car.
  • Movies/shows she enjoys: Dora the Explorer, Polar Express, Cinderella and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
  • Her favorite color is Purple! (That's my girl)
  • She enjoys jumping on their trampoline in the backyard.
  • Her favorite "do" is her in two piggy tales.  :)

An update on Kendra!  Stay tuned for Chloe's update coming soon.

Where has time gone?

I know, I know! Shameful right?  It's been half a year since I've updated on here.
Way to long.  Time flies throughout my day.  The trips are getting older and much
more busy which makes it harder for me to get on the computer much less
create blog posts.
But this year will be different...I think.  I'd like to try and update more since
I've had some requests from family members.  Also it's my goal to chronicle
my fight against Mixed Connective Tissue Disease.  One aspect that I
hope to include is my diet changes are  Eating Clean and Juicing more!
It's a change that I've read up on and talked about for the past year.
But this year I want to DO IT!!!  I believe this is the key to healing my body
and getting myself back to a place of health and physical greatness.

So, what have we been up to?
Here's a glimpse...

The trips turned 3 in July.  We had a beach bash
with family and friends to celebrate with us.

They're getting bigger...

Cuter...

Stronger...

Braver...

 Closer...

and Funner!

Random Facts:
  • The girls love to sing and dance. If there is music on, more than likely the girls are dancing and singing.
  • Kai loves his trains, planes and automobiles.  He loves to set up his cars and trains on the dining room table, moves all the chairs and runs his toys along the edge.  It's perfect because it's just the right height for him.
  • The kids love fruit and love French fries.  They're not vegetable eaters but then again are you surprised?  Most kids aren't, however hopefully with my diet change, I hope to encourage them to eat better.  Our health starts at young age.
  • They're favorite movie to date is "Polar Express".  It's the first movie that they sat through the whole entire movie without getting up once.
  •  The first memory verse they memorized is Luke 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rest."
I'm glad to be back.  I hope to commit to blogging on a more regular basis.
Tata for now!

7 ways to enjoy Spring...

At least that's how we're spending it!  Busy...of course.  I'm sure it's busy for everyone this time of year.

Here's a few things we've been up to since I last blogged...

1.  Adding a little spark to my creative space.
Let's hope it gives me some inspiration, I'm
experiencing another creative funk. Blah!

2. Kendra enjoying some toast with jelly for breakfast
because that's how we roll in the morning.
Jelly on our nose and all.

3. Celebrating Chris' birthday.

4.  A little swimming because the weather feels
almost like summer already.
.

5.  A juicy watermelon for a snack.  Yummm!

6.  Spending time with Auntie and Uncle because we love them.

7.  And why not a snooze every now
and then too.  Nothing like a little nap
on a warm spring day.
How's your Spring?
